Nome Preschool Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides a quality introduction to structured learning for early childhood students.

PHILOSOPHY:

Nome Preschool is designed to introduce your child to a positive first school experience.  Throughout the school year, we will encourage your child’s growth and development in the following skill areas:  social/emotional development, self-help skills, language development, gross motor skills, fine motor coordination, pre-academic readiness skills, and music, art, and story experiences.  At the beginning of the year the class is less structured.  At this time our emphasis is on group living skills such as sharing, taking turns, listening, following directions, cleaning up, and practicing healthy habits.  As the year progresses, more emphasis will be placed on kindergarten readiness skills and pre-academic concepts such as naming colors, recognizing and printing own name, counting, shapes, and recognizing size differences.  Children are introduced to pre-academic skills and are not expected to master them.  Our goal is to encourage children to like school, a foundation for a lifetime of learning.  We acknowledge the tremendous responsibility we have and appreciate your trust and cooperation.
